Korea 2010 - part 2

Here comes the part 2 of the trip. Since it is a business trip, I only manage to visit Gyeongbokgung and Insadong in Seoul. Here are the photos taken in Gyeongbokgung, the oldest palace of the Joseon Dynasty.

The entrance to Gyeongbokgung.

You can find the imperial guards dressed in the traditional uniforms and patrolling around the palace during daytime.

They just don't wanna smile ...  ^_^;

Here is SC Kim, our company resident engineer in Korea. Thanks for becoming my tour guide during my visit

The second entrance, not sure why the palace has so may gates.

Third entrance ... They just looks identical aren't they ..

Here is the layout of the main hall in the palace.

We were not allowed to enter the main hall, so I have to take the photo from the outside.
The emperor's seat is in the middle.

Snap shot to the ceiling of the palace. Nice artwork of the double dragon.

Some decoration in the palace, I have no idea what is it.

Outside of the main hall.

Korean's calligraph, it is kind of similar to the Chinese.

The palace garden.

Heard that this is some kind of ballroom to held the banquet.

Errr... not sure if this is pine tree ..?  It is very common in Korea.

“秋水芙蓉楼” - no idea what does it mean. Perhaps, I have abandoned my Chinese language for too long ..  >"<

So, this are the 12 zodiac animals in Korea. They are exactly the same as the Chinese.

I found mine ... the dog ..

Graveyard ??  May be ..  ^_^;

And some unknown statues, I was a bit lazy to read the description as it was pretty hot out there :p

Here is something familiar when I played Ragnarok Online fews years back. The great generals!!

KS and me.

The palace is pretty huge. There is a museum located within the palace itself, can't recall the name.
Here is the photo of it.

Stay tuned for part 3 for more photos within the museum and Insadong.

For a start, compilation of the nice foods I took in Korea.

Some common foods, fried crab sticks, fried prawns and something special - fried ginseng.

Steamboat for 2, ₩22000 (~ RM70). Serves with kimchi, rice, potatoes, mushrooms, pork ribs etc.

Unagi (^.^) ....
I've never eat so many unagi in a single meal.

Some display found in food court. The price ain't cheap though.

I like this, fish roll with potato ...

Sashimi ~~~

My Message Tone from "Pages of Treasure" 《Click入黄金屋》

This is one the background music played in the drama "Pages of Treasure".
I came across with the piano version on youtube last year. The melody was beautiful and I decided to convert and store it into my phone as ringtone.

Somehow my sister found out about it and used it as message tone on her phone as well.
And guess what, now not only my sister but some of her friends are using the same message tone as I did. Sometimes, it may ends up all of us checking our hp for message when this music is played .... ^.^

I couldn't remember who is the person who played and uploaded the piano version on youtube.

If you search for "love song on piano pages of treasure" on youtube. You will be surprised to find out that there are so many similar clips available.

Anyway, whoever is he/she, thanks for sharing the nice music...

Streamyx Speed Upgrade

My brother just did the streamyx speed upgrade from 1Mbps to 2Mbps last month.
He has to pay RM130 /  month for the upgrade.

However I just do not see any improvement after the upgrade.
In fact, I felt it has become even slower.
Now, I couldn't even stream any movie on PPStream with the laggy connection.

My brother did the speed test after the upgrade through the speedometer feature on  the streamyx main page, the results looked good.
Somehow this feature is not available now, so I did the speed test on instead.

Well this is what streamyx offer for RM 130 / month ...

It is not even half of the speed as stated in the package. This is definitely not acceptable.
For all streamyx users, pls do your speed test to make sure that you are getting what you have paid.
We are going to complain about this, let's see how TMnet is gonna get back to us. Btw, they still owe us a cordless phone which comes together with the package. >"<
